Overview

ZPMC India is seeking a Safety Officer to support HSE management across port equipment projects and site operations. The role involves monitoring high-risk activities, conducting inspections and risk assessments, implementing safety requirements, maintaining HSE documentation, and promoting a strong safety culture through training and workforce engagement.

Responsibilities

1.Conduct routine site safety inspections, risk assessments and ensure compliance with established HSE requirements.
2.Monitor high-risk activities including work at height, lifting, hot work, electrical work and confined-space operations.
3.Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks and training, and verify PPE, work permits, tools and lifting equipment.
4.Report and investigate incidents, near misses and unsafe conditions, and follow up corrective and preventive actions.
5.Maintain HSE records and support ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 compliance, audits and client HSE requirements.

Requirements

1.Good knowledge of occupational health & safety practices, risk assessment, PTW and hazard identification.
2.Practical understanding of safety requirements for work at height, lifting, hot work, electrical work and confined spaces.
3.Ability to conduct site inspections, incident investigations, toolbox talks and safety training.
4.Good documentation and reporting skills with working knowledge of MS Office and HSE records.
5.Strong communication, coordination and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees, contractors and client HSE teams.

Qualification

Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, ADIS/NEBOSH preferred
